What did you, or do you, like most about school?

Posted on Mar 7th, 2009 by Sings to Eagles : Passionate Expression of Freedom Sings to Eagles
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 06, 2009:

What I most liked about school was leaving it.  My most meaningful learning has taken place since I have started a more personal journey to learning, wisdom and truth.

I believe that while the best learning is outside of school, the interaction of that time period is the most important part. School is where you make your first friends and see them every day.. The bonds you build don’t always stay as strong once you have all been out in the real world, but you never forget them. That initial closeness to others teaches you so much about the human spirit, for those ages are when we are at our most vulnerable. We are all just beginning to start on our paths to finding ourselves and are happy to share it with others. That type of closeness of spirit is harder to find the older you get.

SamanthaQueenOfHearts, I am happy for you that this was your experience of school, I am happy that it gave you a joy that traveled with you through your journey of life.  While I had a teachers in school that inspired me, my experience was not the same.

I have been thinking of this question since it’s been posted.  I barely recall a single thing about school.  I often wonder how in the world I learned to read?  It was just a blur….

I asked my children, ages 9, 8, 7, 5, and 3..what they like about school.  They said:

Friends, PE and Recess!  (big smile!)  hmmmmmm?
