What was your favorite childhood story?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 09, 2007:
My favorite childhood story was "The Velveteen Rabbit." Childhood seemed so unreal to me, it was very confusing and painful. So much of what was "right" did not make sense to me. I wondered what was real and the ideal of loving and being loved to become real has been such a strong theme throughout my life.
